2.Polyester and Aramid Filter Bags

For applications requiring flexibility and durability, polyester and aramid (Nomex) are preferred. They exhibit superior mechanical strength and can endure temperatures up to 200°C. Polyester filters are generally used for moderate temperature applications, while Nomex is ideal for high-temperature operations. Pressure drop values typically fall between 400 and 800 Pa.

3.Evaluating Pressure Dynamics

Pulse-jet systems are characterized by their cleaning pressure and airflow dynamics. During pulse cleaning, a sudden release of compressed air generates a shockwave that travels through the filter bag. The pressure drop across the system consists of three primary components:
  • Structural Resistance (ζ₀): Determined by the filter housing and airflow design.
  • Clean Filter Resistance (∆Pₛ): Represents the resistance of a clean filter bag, typically 20 to 40 Pa.
  • Dust Layer Resistance (∆Pₐ): Increases as dust accumulates, ranging from 300 to 1500 Pa depending on dust loading.
Maintaining optimal cleaning pressure is crucial. For efficient operation, the pulse pressure should remain within the 0.09 to 0.1 MPa range. Excessive pressure can damage filter bags, while insufficient pressure leads to ineffective cleaning.
